I just finished watching this wonderful documentary about WWII through the eyes of 4 towns in America. It set me to thinking what would happen if America were attacked today. Would we come together as a nation as we did after Pearl Harbor? Then I realized we HAD been attacked on 9/11. For about 2 weeks we came together. Then, I'm not quite certain what happened. Granted I can not support the war in Iraq, and think we were led there under false pretenses.. But what would happen in a full scale attack against our nation? How would we respond? I would like to believe that under all the PC crapola and bullshit, we would in fact stand as one. Despite the fact that the nation is currently torn by political partisanship, I believe Americans are still the greatest and most resourceful people in the world, I have to believe that should this nation ever face a real threat, her citizens would rise to protect her and the beliefs She stands for. If you take away the politicians and the PC and all the lies, America today is no different then America in 1941. We still live free and cherish our freedom and I believe would stand to protect that right, at least I pray we would.
